So get ready to explore all the new horizons in Italian tailor-made design, including state-of-the-art fittings, colours and textures. Plus a host of workshops, seminars and competitions, all focused on the universe of architecture and interior design.
But what are the most talked-about events you really cannot miss? Here's our pick!
#1. The Australian architect Glenn Murcutt - winner of the prestigious Pritzker Prize in 2002 - is without doubt one of the most eagerly-awaited guests . His lecture, scheduled for Tuesday 29th September at 10 am, will offer Cersaie visitors precious insights into a world of architecture focused on ecology, and in harmony with the local climate and landscape.
This architect, who has won numerous prizes for his eco-functional architecture is famous for buildings, such as the Museum of Local History and Tourist Office in Kempsey and the Arthur and Yvonne Boyd Art Centre in Riversdale, Australia.
#2. A major new feature at this year's Cersaie is the Cer-Stile exhibition, organised by Angelo Dall’Aglio and Davide Vercelli. This exhibition presents new concepts of liveability and enhancement for a number of typical Italian landscapes, including mountains, chalets and sea. The exhibition is housed in a special display tunnel that acts as a metaphor for a fascinating journey that explores the Italian peninsula from North to South.
#3. Meet one of the founding fathers of the modern Italian comic. Massimo Giacon is a designer, cartoonist, and art and music lover. and on Friday 2nd October at 10 am this truly eclectic maestro will treat visitors to a “Lezione alla rovescia” (Back-to-Front Lesson) where the author will be interviewed by high school students from all over the Emilia Romagna region.
#4. Design your own home
This special event in which visitors can ask designers and experts from Italian companies and magazines to help design their homes is back again this year.
Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola will be taking part as usual, so reserve your spot by simply sending us an email and be sure of receiving some personalised advice and ideas from our interior style and design expert.
#5. Tailormade solutions for the home
Ceramics can be used to decorate spaces of any size, just like a tailored suit always fits the wearer perfectly. In the same way, the new Imola, LaFaenza and Leonardo collections will amaze you with their new, revised materials and style concepts. These adventurous changes in style are meticulously design-focused in order to achieve ceramic solutions that are always new and exciting. So would you like a taste of what to expect at Cersaie?
In the Maori tongue, the word "kiko" means fabric, which is why it has been chosen for the new Imola collection that takes its inspiration from the different weaves of linen, silk, hemp and cotton. 8 different contemporary colours, from teal green to aquamarine and from marsala to chocolate, further enhance the slightly three-dimensional graphics of these new and highly original surfaces.
